GREAT SHOW! ;) As usual... They played pretty much the same songs they've been playing this tour, but believe me, it's DEFINATELY not the same listening to them as seeing them... My second Red Hot Chili Peppers show, it's been 2 years and almost 4 months since my first one and it's incredible how much a show can change in such short time. First of all, John was much more entertaining than the old John who just stood around looking at the floor, but Flea was also as funny with his moves as ever (maybe even funnier) and Anthony also did more than just jump a little and walk as before (although not too much more). Chad... well he rocks :D It was nice to see John playing keyboards on Warm Tape and I espected him to use a pedal to simulate the acoustic guitar sound, but no, he used a real one! :) The little sweet treat of the night: a short (about 30 second) Mellowship Slinky In B-Major intro to Soul To Squeeze! It started by Flea playing his bass, then John joined him :) The rest was the usual, although Anthony came in wearing a New Jersey Nets #5 Jason Kidd jersey, but he didn't take long to explain that he wasn't "kissing your ass", that he was proud to wear it, but he wore it just because he lost a bet. Flea entertained the public telling jokes and screaming, doing some funny dance moves and playing Give It Away standing on Chad's bass drum... John even spoke a little in the end ;) Great performances of excelent classics and new hits like Can't Stop, Sir Psycho Sexy, They're Red Hot and many more... Anthony didn't make a single mistake on lyrics (!) for quite some time, until Otherside, but then started screwing plenty of lyrics... Anyway, the show itself was excelent, but now it's time for me to talk about the rest... I got there at 6:30 (my ticket said the show started at 7:30), and went in... Bought some stuff (an overpriced $28 T-Shirt, an $8 poster and a $20 tab book) and went to my seat to wait. Well, dumb me, cause this was my first concert in the U.S. and apparently I had no idea how things are over here. At 7:30, the Mars Volta came to stage... that was when I noticed I was gonna get home a liiiiiitle bit later than I thought :) Sorry to all Mars Volta fans, but I couldn't stand their performance, the volume was too high (maybe that's because I didn't like the music itself ;))... it was funny to see their guitarist and singer moving, and the fact that the guitarist threw his guitar to the floor on their FIRST song! They went on to play, as I recall, only two more very long songs, which I used to go and use my last $4 on some food... 2 cookies=$4... DAMN! Robbers... The Queens of the Stone came next... Although I didn't find them as disturbing and aggressive as the Mars Volta (they seemed very friendly, actually), they still were noisy, maybe even more than the Mars Volta. Their volume was higher than the Chili's... I can't understand this... Anyway, after that the show came and it made everything worth the wait... An excelent show, hope they come back soon! :)
